Hi Maryanne

I liked your idea of a table to compare the different sites. Good to see you again.

My institution uses Blackboard as an LMS and it is interesting to see the blog, wiki and podcasting tools that they have contained within Blackboard - not quite the open web publishing that we are used to!

Illya,
I am thinking about putting the URL's of the wikis in the sidebar of my blog. That way I can easily check the progress on each of the wikis.

Hi Maryanne
Thanks for sharing this. I can see potential here!
Since wikis can develop over a longer period of time, I can imagine posting a wikipost to the blog for current study or discussion, freeing it from the realms of the wiki and opening it to an audience that might not otherwise have found the topic.
Do you have any ideas yet of how you are going to use it?
Greetings
Illya

Hi Maryanne
That bit that hit you about building networks also hit me. I think this has become very evident during the OWP course. In any case I see a young but already quite strong network of people here and am looking forward to nurturing it now outside of EVO!
Keep in touch:-)

I agree Berta. The mind set of the academia is heavily set on copyrights and one's intellectual property. There is not a lot of online collaboration among the faculty members. I recently attended a workshop on wikis, blogs, etc. for the faculty and was very surprised by the discussion that ensued. First, people are using blogs to answer questions about exams and second, they are reluctant to post their ideas online to share in an informal way (like the EVO communities). These are not my impressions; they actually said that themselves. They also suggested that 'all teachers' are reluctant to share ideas online to which I responded with the examples of EVO2007 and the K-12 online conference. They were quite surprised. I think things will change though. I see a big change from what it was 2 years ago! :)
